Authorities in Hunan Province, central China, are pressing ahead with search and rescue operations after a boat collision left two people dead and 14 others missing, officials said Wednesday at a press conference.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning on the Yuanshui River in Qinglang Township, Huaihua City, when a passenger boat collided with an oil waste recovery vessel, throwing 19 people onboard the passenger boat into the water. Three survivors were pulled from the river and have since been hospitalized. All of them are in stable conditions. (Xinhua/Cheng Ji'an)
Six personnes se sont noyées lundi après un accident de bateau survenu dans le district de Pingjiang de la province chinoise du Hunan (centre), ont annoncé les autorités locales. Vers 17H30, un bateau transportant six villageois a chaviré dans les eaux du village de Doutang, le long de la rivière Changjiang, à Pingjiang.
La police locale s’est précipitée sur les lieux et a coordonné les opérations de recherche et de sauvetage avec les forces de secours. A 21H05, les six corps avaient été retrouvés. La cause de l’accident fait l’objet d’une enquête.
